Nexium is used to treat reflux, heartburn, acid reflux, and (heartburn). Esomeprazole belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). Esomeprazole works by decreasing the amount of acid made by the stomach and lower acid levels in the gut. Esomeprazole is also used to reduce the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Nexium should be taken in the morning and the drug should be taken with food. Take the medication at around the same time every day. Follow the instructions on the packaging. Do not use the drug more than 14 days in a row.
Esomeprazole should not be taken with food or during the day. Try to take the medication with food when eating or after eating meals. If you miss a dose, take it at least atide if not your doctor has told you.
Do not take esomeprazole if you are allergic to esomeprazole or any other ingredients of the product.
