Nexium is used for the treatment of frequent heartburn (occurring on a single occasion), to help heal the damage that the acid reflux caused. Nexium is also used for treating the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), to help reduce the frequency of heartburn and help the healing of the acid reflux.
Nexium is taken orally with or without food. Take the capsule once a day, at the same time each day. Take Nexium only as prescribed.
Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once a day. You may take this medication with or without food. If you are taking food, let the food in your stomach melt off of the tablet before swallowing.
You may begin to feel better as soon as you swallow the capsule, but you can take the capsule with or without food.
This medication should not be given to children or adolescents under the age of 18 years. The safety and efficacy of this product has not been established for use in children under the age of 18 years. However, the product labeling states that it may be used for the treatment of pain and inflammation associated with arthritis. However, the manufacturer states that this product is safe and has not been associated with any adverse events related to its use in children.
If you are taking Nexium for stomach problems, you may take the capsule with food. However, it may be taken with or without food.

GERD is caused by the damage to the esophagus by stomach acid. When there is GERD, there is a problem with the stomach that can cause heartburn. If you have heartburn, your symptoms may be worse and your doctor may recommend to take you to a doctor. In rare cases, GERD can lead to serious problems such as heart attack, stroke, vision problems, chest pain, severe stomach pain and so on. NEXIUM is a drug combination therapy that contains 20 mg of esomeprazole and 20 mg of pantoprazole. The combination reduces the body’s production of a certain number of stomach hormones that cause excessive gastric acid secretion.
